There is speculation and comments in some sections of the press that Ed Miliband wants to modernise the party (whatever that means) by changing some of the rules, one of the proposals could be to reduce the role of the unions and redefine the role we have. Now this does not surprise me as I never thought that Ed would be any different than say David M who is openly right wing and its obvious that Ed played the left wing card just to get elected.
I think it will be a huge error of judgement to make the shift away from the TU's and of course it was the TU's that created the party. Any attempts to move away from this sacred link will with out any doubt drive many of us away? That would not be right and we must fight this idiotic idea!
Whatever happened to your lambeth diaries? Any chance?
