The TUC has reacted cautiously to the announcement by Business Secretary Vince Cable of new minimum wage rates.
Although the TUC would have liked to have seen the rates go up further to provide a bigger boost to economic demand, there was a positive response to the decision to increase the apprentice rate.Meanwhile, the TUC has welcomed the decision by HM Revenue and Customs that two telecoms companies are to be forced to repay £100,000 after being found guilty of not paying the minimum wage.
