I understand from totally unreliable sources that the Queen may not be doing the traditional speech on Xmas day so the BBC will be using an alternative. Deidre Barlow Rashid could be asked to make a statement to the nation as it is believed this will be more relevant, down to earth and more real. The rumour started when Emily Bishop left Weatherfield last night on her way to London. Have no idea whether this is actually true or false but then no one really cares.
