The people of Britain are not stupid and politicians should remember that. The half baked idea that was pushed through to pacify Nick Clegg has been rejected by the electorate. Ed Miliband has also got egg on his face.
AV was an idiotic system that no one explained to ordinary people it might be ok (debatable) for the Labour party to elect its leaders but it is not good enough to use for a sophisticated country like the UK, so it was thrown in the dustbin of history where it belongs. The only winners out of the entire episode have been the Tory party who are driving the Libs to oblivion avenue!
