Jon Rogers
I met and worked with Jon Rogers around 1990. We were not close at the start as we had a different approach to Lambpolitic, he was the Chair of Lambeth NALGO and I was the Convenor for the centre. I begun to respect his dedication after we had a few 'political confrontations and we became close friends and associate we ended up becoming joint Branch Secretaries for 11 years. These were difficult and challenging times for the both of us but I think we both worked close together and achieved as much as we could. He is more of a brother to me. Our journey together was a long one. We understood each other more than many others could have done.

Monarchy, fantacy and mythology
A bit of mythology is always a welcomed deviation from reality. It helps to follow the stories on East Enders or Coronation street (shame Kevin was rescued from the fridge last night!) it becomes a major problem though when people are suddenly forced to deal with huge fantacy stories like when someone is magically turned into a Sussex and becomes a Duke etc. Just keep the stories real please and do not treat people like idiots. Yes we have a monarch but keep it real and stop those benefiting from being on the royal gravy train bombarding our brains with trivial nonsense that mean nothing!

Prince Phillip
I am not a conspiracy theorist but I sometimes wonder as to whether those who believe we are all being manipulated by those in power is correct. Its obvious that if Phillip of Greece is not well he should go to hospital where he can be taken care of but why do we need to know the detail? I am sure that he himself is more interested in keeping his personal life private. The whole world, apart from those who feed from the pyramid fantacy, has better things to do. Keep these things private please!

Covid 19
Pointless trying to find out where this virus came from and how it spread so quick. Its devastating impact will be felt for a long time to come. Not sure either as to whether the government has dealt with this the right way but I feel in general they messed many things up and could have done it differently. But this is no time for investigations as we all need to stay as together as we can and deal with the massive problem. More should be done on finding more effective treatment that is the best way to deal with this.

Heather Rabbats
I was branch Secretary in Lambeth when Heather Rabbatts arrived sometime in 1995. She did a good job dealing with many issues that had to be dealt with post Ted Knight era but many disliked her and some even openly hated her. I never understood that and put it down to people not wanting change. I had many disagreements over this with fellow activists in the Union. I personally liked and admired her and we got on well. Hope she is still doing well.

Monarhy
I am not against the institution of monarchy but it has to be simplified and brought up to date. A constitutional monarch is a more efficient way of managing complex societies. I understand that the mythology and fantacy that comes with the crown are totally unecessary a radical change is absolutely needed if the next generation of citizens (not subjects) are to tolerate it. I am a fun of King Constantine of Greece so am not advocating the removal of these people. But we must remove all the mythology around them otherwise they are finished.
The other thing that totally annoys people are those hanging around them like Nicholas Witchell from the BBC why on earth has he got a full time job telling us what toilet paper Harry is using in LA? Get rid of him and others like him.

Stay fit over 50
One of my favorite pass times. Stay fit look good. It involves drinking a lot of water, eating the right kind of food (all about balance) and keeping the mind active. Mental well being is as important in terms of staying looking fit as any physical activity. Difficult to get this balance right during the Covid period but its worth trying.

Trump
I am glad that most if not all of the major tv network stations here and the USA avoid talking about that awful man Trump. They should continue that policy and stop giving him the oxygen that his toxic brand needs, publicity. Keep him off our screens for ever please.

The covid vaccine
I will encourage everyone who is able to have the vaccine to get it done. It is the only way out we seem to have. Its better to have some hope rather then none. Please get it done.
