Weatherfield mayhem

I would imagine many followers of corrie street would be deeply disappointed to see that the major disaster what hit Weatherfield did not kill off Dev and Ashley the two most boring characters on telly ever. On the other hand we saw a splendid attempt by Deidre Barlow to act she did however manage to help the situation by shouting 'Ken love'. Is tragedy the best way to celebrate 50 years of history? Call me old fashioned but I think not! They should get Wagner from X factor to sing the birdy song next week that should make interesting telly!
