Smyrna destroyed 1922

The day the new Turkish army invaded and destroyed Smyrna where a largly Greek popolation lived. Hellenic Royal forces under the command of Prince Andrew, father of Prince Phillip, had invaded and captured most of Western part of Asia Minor from 1918 to 1922. The defeat came after the Greek army over extended itself and had major logistic problems with re supplying.
