i used to attend and chair meetings where J Corbin would come and give monthly reports. He did this as he is a Unison sponsored MP. He is a descent and well meaning guy but I always thought that his long reports were usually boring and sometimes irrelevant. People, however, like him because he is not a sleazy career politician like many in the Labour Party.
So what do I think of the Corbin phenomenon as someone who knew him before all the halabaloo? I think that he is unelectable because what wins elections in this country is closely linked with how spin doctors present someone and there is no chance in hell for Mr and Mrs middle of the road voting for Corbin. Labour want to stay in opposition for at least 6 years and Jeremy is doing a good job for them. Sad but true!
