ConLib reviews

Looks like the 'coalition' government is getting ready to 'review' (meaning remove) the regulations which allow employees to ask for time off for training which came into effect in April 2010. They are also shelving or scrapping plans to extend paternity leave. Now why am I not at all surprised that this is happening?

In a statement issued by John Hayes he says 'We believe it is important that all regulations are properly scrutinised and we are therefore interested in hearing views on the future of this right and its role in promoting training in the workplace, which I see as vital to our economic success' This is interesting of course but the consultation period will be shorter than usual and the period given will close on the 15 of September...

I hope the Liberal side of the coalition are now realising what a mess they have let themselves into!
