More than half of town hall leaders and five of eight GLA members are supporting the former foreign secretary's attempt to become Leader of the Labour party. Glad to see that my own friend Steve Reed has also declared his support. There is a sense of realism in the air and the romantics supporting Ed or anyone else are beginning to understand that the time to be practical has arrived. We don't have time for no hoppers or those who think that all or any publicity is good publicity. Was amazed the other day to hear a good friend of mine saying he will be supporting Diane Abbot! That tells me a lot. David Miliband is the only one who can win, you don't have to love the guy but he is the best pilot to drive the Labour plane to the next stage the others are pretenders and some are in it to get a ministerial position! How very pathetic!
Why back such a useless right winger though?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call someone who has attracted the support of the majority of Council leaders in London useless. He is as right wing as your favorite D Abbot (who is a hypocrite) but you still support her? She is the left candidate? Does that mean you will all be sending your children to private school now??
ReplyDeleteDavid is the only one with any chance of winning. Many of you are simply going down the 'romantic road' looking at blue sky scenarios with people like Ed who will do exactly as Blair did if he is ever elected. The entire process is already determined and the other pretenders are in the race hoping for some ministirial post. Bet you anything that Diane Abbot will be made into a minister by David when he is PM and Ed will of course get something. I have no idea why Tessa Jowel or H Harman didn't stand. David is the best given the choice!! He has never lied about his politics and he won't play the game of telling the left of the left what they want to hear now then piss on them!
